Tracy and Brian’s classic, navy blue and crystal-bedecked wedding took place on a hot June day at the Wedgewood Sequoia in Placerville. The celebrations began upstairs with Tracy’s bridesmaids toasting her with champagne before getting dressed in her gown. Meanwhile the flowers arrived from our friends at Camino Flower Shop and Tracy’s large and gorgeous bouquet drew some oohs and ahhs from everyone.
Prior to their ceremony, Tracy and Brian met out on the front lawn for a first look, which gave us some time to relax and capture some beautiful moments between them before the festivities began. It also gave us time to photograph Tracy with her bridesmaids and Brian with his groomsmen. The goal? To get everyone to the reception (and a cool drink) as quickly after the I Dos as possible. Of course, things don’t always go as planned in weddings. As it happens, a guest interloped into the groomsmen photos. Since nobody said anything when this well-dressed gentleman got into formation with everyone else, I just assumed he was someone special and had been invited into the photos. Only later did one of the groomsmen mention to my assistant that we probably needed to take some more groomsmen photos after the wedding… without the random guest! Of course, we had time built into the schedule after the wedding, but it was definitely the first time for me that wedding party photos had been crashed by a guest.
As they visited each of the tables in their reception, it was obvious that Tracy and Brian are much-loved by their friends and family. I loved their genuine and down-to-earth nature and yet, at the same time, enjoyed the romantic little glances and gestures they shared when they thought nobody else was looking.
Next stop was their honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica. What a great way to start their life together!
