Marlayna and Brendan had one goal for their late October wedding at Wedgewood Sequoia Mansion: “outrageous elegance!” We are thrilled to report that they met that goal, and then some! From a romantic white lace gown to a bridal bouquet overflowing in rich reds and burgundies, to the custom carved wedding pumpkin and birch bark cake, this wedding had “classy”, “gorgeous,” and “autumn” written all over it. We especially loved the cheeky twist on the cake (literally); if you twisted it around, the backside was decorated with a scene from Batman, which was a nod to Brendan’s appreciation for a regular guy that fights for what’s right. Something tells us that if these two can compromise over their wedding cake, there won’t be any “fighting for what’s right” because clearly, these two have found it!
The ceremony was touching and emotional, with tears of happiness from Marlayna and many of the guests. Things got hilarious during the reception when Brendan’s mom ‘fessed up to being “the worst” mother-in-law, having embarrassed Marlayna at least two times in the last year. (Two times?? We say that’s a pretty light infraction for a MIL, ha!) Then came the father-daughter dance, with the natural choice of “123 Marlayna” as their song. Perfect!
Thank you Marlayna and Brendan for inviting us to document your beautiful wedding day. We loved working with you and your families and being surrounded by so much love and happiness – the BEST way to spend a Saturday! We hope you had an amazing honeymoon in Maui and look forward to sharing your gallery with you. Here’s a sneak peek!
