Lori and Brad were married on a beautiful Labor Day weekend at Wedgewood David Girard Vineyards, supported by Lori’s daughters and grandchildren, and Brad’s father.
It was a wonderful celebration full of emotion, laughter, singing and dancing but the day began with a tearful Brad remembering his mother who passed just two short months ago. Her absence was felt throughout the day in the words spoken both through the ceremony and reception, and in photographs shared by the family. She was clearly very beloved by Brad and his father.
Lori, meanwhile, was safely tucked away in the bride’s dressing room with her sister, daughters, and granddaughter, who helped her place flowers in her hair, slip into her dress and tie her rose-colored shoes.
Brad and Lori saw each other for the first time in a private and emotional first look before the ceremony, and it was an honor to be a part of that intimate moment they shared together. Although first looks may not be for everyone, the space they create for brides and grooms to truly connect without the eyes of friends and family on them (and while still freshly coiffed) is amazing. In fact, Lori and Brad elected to shoot the vast majority of their photos before their ceremony, including family photos, leaving them and their family and friends able to head straight to a cocktail reception shortly after they said I Do.
The reception ballroom at David Girard is large and spacious and it looked absolutely amazing for Lori and Brad’s day, thanks to Cocomont’s staging and Camino Flower Shop. Draping champagne colored chair covers, napkins and table cloths lent a feeling of classic warmth and elegance, especially once the sun began to set and pour golden light through the western-facing windows.
But Lori and Brad’s family and friends really came to life once our friend, Steve, DJ turned-up the music. Some of my favorite moments from the evening were watching Lori, Brad, her children and grandchildren dance and sing at the top of their voices to their favorite songs. They all clearly have a wonderful connection and enjoy one another’s company; it showed throughout the day.
Congratulations to Lori and Brad and best wishes for many more evenings of joyful dancing and singing with your family.
