Lauren + Matthew have an incredibly romantic love story which they shared with us in their wedding questionnaire and so I was really excited to meet them and see how their connection played-out in front of the camera.
Matthew proposed to Lauren after sending her on a scavenger hunt all around Sacramento to places where they had been going on dates, finally meeting her at the jewelers in Old Town Sacramento where he had purchased her ring, holding a single pink rose. They had been dating almost a year after meeting at Azusa Pacific University and Lauren was expecting a proposal on their one year anniversary. Matthew surprised her by being a few weeks early! In addition to the scavenger hunt, he had filled her bedroom with pink and blue balloons, each with a sweet love note written on it, and accompanied her hunt with text messages containing video messages that her best friends had recorded for her. Gah! How thoughtful.
They didn’t disappoint in person either, so sweet and incredibly in love. I loved how their height difference created the necessity for some movie-like lifted kisses which we really played up throughout the session. It was easy to capture the romantic moments with them. I can’t wait for their 2016 wedding at the Wedgewood Sequoia Mansion.
